The sentence came as a part of an agreement between public defender Benjamin Aponte and Assistant State's Attorney Elizabeth Moran. Under the agreement, Cuero-Marroquin pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree robbery, which stemmed from two unrelated robberies that happened over a three-day period in 2018 in Norwalk. 'I would like to apologize for my mistakes,' Cuero-Marroquin said before his sentencing. On Oct. 7, 2018, Cuero-Marroquin robbed a man of $2,300 as the man left a check cashing location on Connecticut Avenue, police wrote in an arrest warrant.
